Fort Myers Attorney Guy Whitesman Elected Chair Elect of Florida Bar Tax Section
The law firm of Henderson, Franklin, Starnes & Holt, P.A., is pleased to announce that Guy E. Whitesman has been named Chair Elect Designate of the Tax Section of The Florida Bar to assume the Chair effective July 1, 2010. Mr. Whitesman has been a long time member of the Executive Council of the Tax Section and currently serves as Director of Long Range Planning. He is a Board Certified tax attorney and a past chair of Tax Law Certification Committee, which oversees the board certification process in taxation.
Mr. Whitesman chairs Henderson Franklin's Business and Tax Department and concentrates his practice in tax planning, mergers and acquisitions, and business planning. He also acts as general counsel to a number of the firm's clients. Mr. Whitesman is and has been active in local community affairs, serving as trustee of the Edison-Ford Winter Estates Foundation, director of the Edison Pageant of Light, Inc., a founding trustee of the Jewish Community Foundation of Lee and Charlotte Counties, past president of the Rotary Club of Fort Myers South, trustee emeritus and past president of the Calusa Nature Center and Planetarium, and past president of the Jewish Federation of Lee and Charlotte Counties.
Mr. Whitesman received his undergraduate (B.A.) and law degree (J.D.) from
University of Michigan, and his Masters in Taxation (LLM Tax) from the
University of Florida.
