Overview

Michael Scharff brings a wealth of facilities management expertise to his role as the Facilities/Support Services Manager, boasting extensive experience in managing up to 13 buildings simultaneously. His areas of expertise encompass a broad range of facilities management skills, including:

  • Proactive issue identification and corrective action implementation 
  • Effective communication across all company levels 
  • Professional development of his team 
  • Modernization of building infrastructure 
  • In-depth knowledge of elevator systems, HVAC, and ground-up building processes

Michael is well-prepared for his role, holding an OSHA 30 certification, a Project Management certification, and a NY-issued certificate of fitness for interior building alarm systems.

As the facilities manager, Michael oversees the management of the facilities budget, identifies and resolves maintenance issues, negotiates and manages vendor contracts, supervises support staff and facilities-related projects, and manages the mailroom and reception operations.

Michael’s primary goals include maintaining and enhancing building systems and facilities, fostering efficient communication and teamwork, and emphasizing preventive maintenance. His notable accomplishments include negotiating a $4 million modernization project at the Federal Courthouse in Brooklyn and spearheading a $23 million renovation on Randall’s Island in Manhattan.

Michael characterizes his management approach as embodying servant leadership, prioritizing the support and recognition of his staff, whom he regards as the fundamental yet often overlooked contributors to successful facility operations.

Before relocating to Southwest Florida, Michael honed his skills in New York working for an international company, where he gained valuable insights into the elevator industry. Outside the office, he enjoys family time with his wife and two daughters and runs a food truck called Two Brothers, which has become a family affair. His culinary skills were even showcased on a TV show with Chef Ramsey.

While in New York, Michael was active in professional organizations and community projects, demonstrating his commitment to both professional growth and civic engagement.
